Recently I was trying some high-speed flash photography, dropping “fake” (acrylic) ice-cubes into a glass of (fake) Scotch. I learned two things! One was that I love doing this sort of work! The second thing I learned was that acrylic ice-cubes have the ability to break whisky tumblers! See the triangular chunk of glass at lower right!
The original image shows I managed to capture the piece of flying glass just at the point where the fluid as undergoing a shock wave. This was all followed by many “happy” minutes searching for all the glass fragments in the “fluid spill containment device”…. or paddling pool 🙂 All fragments were recovered.
And here is a slightly more successful attempt 🙂 … just minutes before the glass was damaged.
